Young with cancer

Hello their my name is Emma and I'm 25 with a daughter today I found out that I have early stages of cervical cancer... How did everyone take their news.... I now have to sit and dwell on this until atleast 3 weeks when they want to then see me again... A little lost here if someone could help me xxx

  • Oh Emma... we all know those early scary feelings, and you having a lil un, they must feel 10 fold ...

We can't take away the pain and confusing thoughts, but we can share them with you ... your brain will go into overdrive, that's normal ... but the more you can find to do, the less time to sit thinking ...

We call it a rollercoaster ride, coz it's like being put on the scariest ride, and you can't get off ... lots of ups and downs ... and you have no control ... now that's the hardest part ...

So when you give it time to sink in ... come up and look it in the eye ... and say ..." l will do this"  there's so many on here, all with different cancers... and different treatments ... and different stages ... you are not alone, we are all here with you ... and lots of us still standing and kicking cancers butt right down the road wer on ... l hope you have good support from family and friends ... they will help get you through ..

Cancers come along way ... you can do this ... wer always here if you want help with questions ... or want to rant ... or just chat ... wer all on that rollercoaster , right by you ... so hold on tight, it's a bumpy ride but it is doable ... it's the waiting that's the hardest ... sending you a big hug ... Chrissie

  • Hi Emma

Welcome to the rollercoaster. It is scary but we are all on it together as Chrissie says. The waiting is hard. I wouldn’t have coped if it was not for the support of my family and my friends on here. So come along and chat or rant and there will be people on here to listen.

my rollercoaster ride reached the top today when my op was brought forward from Thursday to Monday so I’m up there screaming and shouting with the best of them. And I surely can holler!

I'm stretching my virtual hand out to squeeze yours.
