My husband has bowel cancer

So, the colonoscopy was brought forward to today as we have private health insurance. Unfortunately it wasnt good news. The consultant said he found a tumour in the left side of the bowel, approx 5cm. He has booked my husband in for an MRI tomorrow (I guess to see whether it has spread?) and to see the surgeon.

Im beyond devastated. I'm scared that they are pushing the appointments through because they think its really serious and spread etc. I'm finding it so hard to process everything.

The consultant today said that the rest of the bowel was clear. Is that a good sign? 

Hopefully we will know more tomorrow.

    Hi there ... hope tomorrow brings better news ... having a clear rest of bowel sounds promising ... so hold on ... those early days are scary... and it makes you imagine all sorts ... but there's a lot on here who have pushed the boundaries and are still here ... 

    Try to live in the day, and tackle things when they pop up ... because all the "what ifs" makes it feel overwhelming. . I know it's easier said then done but it really does help ...

    So fingers crossed for tomoz ... you can do this ... wer all here with you ... Chrissie x

    The scans show the cancer hasn’t spread but he has stage 3. He has to start with radiotherapy followed by surgery. I’m trying to remain strong but so scared.
