Secondary peritoneal cancer

My partner had recently undergone surgery to remove a tumour from his small bowel. While operating the surgeon says that there is deposits on his peritoneum which can't be removed.

We are in the process of waiting on his treatment plan being put in place.

What is the general prognosis for this type of cancer? From what I've been reading online it's not looking good .

He is only 37 and we are both a bit worried about everything.

  • Welcome to the forum Craig although I'm sorry for the reason you are posting.

I would recommend giving our cancer nurses a call next week as they will be in the best position to answer your question. Their freephone number is 0808 800 4040 and will be available from Tuesday onwards (closed on bank holidays) between 9a.m - 5pm.

I know you've been doing some research already but I just wanted to make you aware of the beating bowel cancer website (in case you hadn't come across it yet) as they may be able to help you and your partner at this time as well.

    Kind regards,
