  • Hello Saraswann17,

Welcome to Cancer Chat! I am so sorry to hear you have had such a rough time recently after having an operation for vulval cancer at such a young age and having to deal with lymphoedema. It can't be easy also whilst having to look after four children I can imagine it is all getting a bit much for you. I hope that you will get to talk to other ladies here who have had vulval cancer and that you can support one another as you recover from your surgery.

I thought I'd share a couple of links with you from our page which you might find interesting. We have some information on vulval cancer here . In particular, you might want to read more about life after surgery. I imagine that your doctor has referred you to a lymphoedema specialist who will hopefully be  able to get the lymphoedema under control. You can also find out more about how to cope with lymphoedema here and I hope you will get some good tips on how to deal with this.

Our nurses are also only a free phone call away (if you live in the UK). You can reach them on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm so don't hesitate to ring them if you have any question.

I also did a little search on our forum and thought you might want to have a look at [@Moira2017]‍'s thread here as she also had a diagnosis of vulval cancer. [@mpumpkin34]‍ is also a mum like you with experience of vulval cancer. You can read her story here. Sometimes it really helps  to chat to others who are in a similar situation. I hope you will meet others here who can truly understand how you are feeling at the moment as they have themselves been through a similar recovery process after vulval cancer surgery.

    Best wishes,

    Lucie, Cancer Chat Moderator
