Confused and worried

hi all

new to the forums but just looking for anyone who may have any experiences to share. Quick story last January I had a total hysterectomy following three tumours being removed, two of which were STUMP tumours which I believe is quite unusual to get, never mind to have two.  At the time the oncologist said there was a link with fibroids (which my uterus was full of as well) and renal cell cancer and because I had these unusual STUMP tumours she made an appointment for me with clinical genetics, and decided not to put me on HRT for the surgical menopause as they believed they could have been hormone driven. The clinical genetics then decided it would be better to treat me as if I did have this renal cell cancer gene as I had all the traits I had an annual MRI in January this year which I assumed was just going to be procedural but it turns out I have three further tumours one where they removed my uterus and two towards the back at my bowel, they can’t get to them to biopsy them so in the meantime have referred me for a CT scan and blood tests for my adrenal glands and are starting me on Letrozole to try to reduce the tumours.

confused and worried and looking for anyone who may have had STUMP tumours, been on Letrozole for breast cancer or anything else and any info on the adrenal/kidney part of the story.

sorry for the long post and hope it makes sense...

  • Hello Angie76.  Welcome.  I am really only responding because you have not yet had a response - although am hopeful that this will be forthcoming.  I can not make any meaningful comments but thought you might like to do a little researching on this website while you wait for a response.  If you click on the words "Search Forum" above your post then type "Letrozole" into the box you will find lots of discussions.  Similarly you can do the same with the words "adrenal glands".  Couldn't find anything much when I typed in "stump tumours" - lots of information about tree stumps but that doesn't really help!  I had never heard of stump tumours but spent a bit of time reading up and looking at photos so I have learned something new.

You can of course make contact with any of the posters you come across in your search and I hope this will  be of some use to you.  Best wishes.  Annie

  • Thanks for the reply I will have a search and see what I can find!
