  • Hi there... im a breast cancer lady so can't help with your question but wanted to say welcome to our chat room .. and trust me, we all get scared at times ... there is a way of finding others on here that have the cancer you want info on ... so if anyone reads this who know how to do it, put info on here ...

I think [@Annieliz]‍ is a mine of info ... so fingers crossed someone will pop on here soon ...Chrissie x

  • Hi Peanutcas,

It is only natural that you both feel scared, there are so many unknowns and unanswered questions. I also have oesophageal cancer but in my case it was inoperable as it had grown outwards and around my aorta. I was diagnosed in late 2013 and had chemo which helped shrink my tumours.

I don't have any experience of having a stent or the surgery that your husband may be having. Hopefully someone with that experience will read this thread and fill in the gap. This may sound weird to say but the fact that he is able to have surgical options is a relatively good thing as he has more options available.

Good luck for Thursday's meeting with the consultant. It is a good idea to write down any questions you have before the meeting and it is as important to write down the answers as they are given. Research has shown that we only remember about 40% of what we are told during stressful consultations.

    Best wishes to you both

    Dave

No sooner said than done.  I have only recently learned how to create links and have been longing to do so!  Am still looking to see if there is stent information.

I am not as clever as Chrissie credits me for.  There are quite a lot of posts on this subject and I don't think I can copy them all.  But the information given in the post above may give some help.
