Anyone traveling my same road?

Hello,

I was diagnosed with Stage I Ovarian cancer this past November. I was SHOCKED! Trust me, this one didn't come out of left field, more like outter space! I'm so lucky to have a good doctor and after having lots of scans (which were clear), I've recently had a hysterectomy. My doctor has suggested that maybe I should consider some form of chemotherpy, due to my variables (I have family history. My sister, is a survivor of ovarian cancer and my tumor was G2). Some people are saying don't have chemo with Stage I and others are saying, you are lucky that they caught it so early, don't take a risk, have chemo. I will soon meet and get assessed by an oncologist, so I don't have to decide now. Is there anyone out there who's had Stage I ovarian cancer who can give me an opinion. Thanks so much and after reading so many of your posts, I will keep all of you in my prayers!

  • Welcome to Cancer Chat, Nene65.

I'm sorry you have been diagnosed with stage I ovarian cancer this past November but I'm glad to hear that it sounds like you are being well looked after by your doctor.

Hopefully some of our members who can relate to what you are going through at the moment will come along shortly to give advice and share their experiences with you but in the meantime you might want to consider contacting [@megb246]‍  who posted about ovarian cancer here, earlier this month and maybe have a chat with her?

Also, there is some information from our website I wanted to share with you, to read more please click here. I hope this can help a little.

You mentioned that you were going to get assessed by an oncologist, do you have a date for the appointment yet? Once you find out more come back and keep us posted, we're keeping our fingers crossed for you.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Renata, Cancer Chat Moderator
