More bad news

So as some of you may remember I have recently been diagnosed with stage 3 invasive Ducal carcinoma breast cancer @ 25 years of age, I have started EC chemotherapy only last week, however I have just had a phone call to say that on a routine MRI which they do before starting chemo, they have found a 25mm shadow in my other breast and also enhanced area on the affected breast. They have booked me an appointment for tomorrow to go and see another consultant and have biopsy and scan etc., I am currently also waiting for genetic test due to my maternal grandmother carrying the BRCA1 gene and BC been so rife in my family.

Any advice would be appreciated as I am so scared that it has spread xx

  • Hi there Nikki... welcome to our little chat page ... waiting is always so worrying,  and the mind plays things over and over, with lots of what it's... and I can understand it, as your so young ... but it's better, everything is picked up ... and treated ... I'm 5 months post op and it wasn't half as bad as I'd imagined.. I'm 63 so didn't go for reconstruction, but a lot do, and treatment has come so far ...

If you look on rilleyroos thread, there are a group of breast cancer ladies who support each other on good and not so good days, and they will help you through ... it is like a rollercoaster ride, ups and downs, but look around and you'll see us right there on this ride with you ...

Sending you a big hug brave lass ... Chrissie xx

  • Hey Nikki. This waiting game is tough. Remember that you are young and your body is strong to fight the bas****. You're in the system and being checked thoroughly. I also have breast cancer in the family but advancements in treatments and how to tackle the different types has progressed so much. You got this. Let us know how you get on.

    You got this!
