Hi guys, my dads been diagnosed with lung cancer (adenocarcinoma for context) for 3 months but needed care for around 8 months. What are everyone's experiences with benefits and cancer? Thanks in advance.

Hi Nicole,
When I was first diagnosed, one of the most practically usefull referrals I had was to the local MacMillan benefits advisor.
He helped me get fast tracked onto Personal Independence Payments (PIP) which itself is a gateway to other things like free prescriptions, a Blue Badge for car parking and a Disabled Persons Railcard. None of these are means-tested, so are available to anyone regardless of the income or money in the bank.
I hope this helps
Dave
