Chemotherapy question

Hi, I never posted on any kind of forum before and really don'tknow why I am now ? I have had a left upper lobectomy in mid October, was told by the surgeon afterwards that he thought it was TB an not cancer after all, so we had a long wait til Nov to find out the results of the histology. I do have cancer and it seems it has spread to stations 4L, 5, and 10 lymph nodes, also the revised bronchial margin has cancer cells in it.......what I do not understand is that in the 2 weeks since I have had the results I have heard nothing from anyone, I also have to say that I have a very rare side affect of lung cancer and that being I have bilateral finger ischaemia with dry gangrene in both hands, which looks totally gross, soon I will be able to see bone in a couple of my digits, but my question is will they give me chemo while my hands are like this or will they amputate my fingers before chemo.......l am not bothered about loosing parts of my fingers as I won't have the pain I have now, also I will adapt to what I've got left

  • Hi Terri and welcome to Cancer Chat.

I'm sorry to read you haven't heard from anyone since getting your results. Did they say when you would next hear from them? If you're worried about the lack of communication why don't you get in touch with them next week to see what's going on?

I can't answer your question about the chemo and your fingers but our cancer nurses may be able to help. You can call them for free on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m so do get in touch with them to have a chat about this.

    Kind regards,
