I am sorry to hear about your diagnosis of prostate cancer, and of the fact that it is aggressive. It is however heartening to hear that there is no lymph node or bone involvement. Your doctors would not be giving you your current treatment unless they thought that there is a chance that this will cure your cancer.

Unfortunately, none of us have a crystal ball, so we can never be sure that any one treatment works. I presume that this is why you have already been told that radiotherapy would be the next step to take. There are side-effects, but it affects different people in different ways. Have you discussed the possible side-effects with your consultant? He is in the best position to advise you, as he knows you and your medical history.

If you want to look into the side-effects, why not use the search engine on the blue banner at the top of this page? If you do this it will bring up previous posts on this site. There is also another area in the cancer research site, which tells you more about radiotherapy. I hope that this helps you to come to a decision and that it will be the right one for you.
