My dad is 76 and has been diagnosed with stage 4 stomach cancer. Prognosis was terrible - we were told to expect weeks and months as opposed to years. We had a meeting with the oncologist around two weeks ago who suggested dad was not strong enough for chemo at that stage (he had a bypass during surgery). We were told to come back in 3 weeks and be reassessed. My worry now is that he won't be eligable for treatment. I know that suitability is measured using a scale of some sort. Does anybody have any details/experience of what the oncologist will look for? I know there is a trade off between quality of life and chemo treatment but we just want him as long as possible. Many thanks
Kevin
