New Son of a cancer patient

Hi just heard my Father has Pancriatic Cancer.  i am looking for advice on what to do to help him be strong at this time.  Any advice appreciated.

  • Hi there ... I can only tell you what helped me... I’m 10 weeks post mastectomy... in the beginning, after hearing the word cancer, life changes... every thing is turned on it’s head and panic sets in .. my daughter in law saw us going through this and she sat us down and said “ o.k it’s cancer, we will get through this if we take one prob at a time, as it comes up, no more what ifs... we’ll all get there ... together... “ it was the best advice ever ... I had someone with me for appointments, tests , results and mastectomy... true to her words ... together... I stopped panickin, started taking one day at a time... and talked honestly about feelings .. we cryed , hugged, and even found something to smile about too ..

so all I’d say , is hold his hand (even a daddy needs that) and walk this journey with him ... it’s like a rollercoaster ride , with highs and lows, but hold on in there as it’s a bumpy ol ride ... together...

    big hug chrisie xx
