Give me a clue

Hi, my husband has just been diagnosed with a malignant melanoma stage 2, having been to see the consultant, who I have to add is lovely, he could give us no advice as to having the lymph nodes removed or not as he says new research is showing it doesn't affect the long term outcome. If my husband wants it he will do it. The problems seem to occur when a, looking for travel insurance or b, claiming on a critical insurance policy as they want to know if it has travelled to the lymph nodes. Can anyone advise us

thanks

    Hi Chris,

    Welcome to Cancer Chat?

I am really sorry to hear about your husband's recent diagnosis. I would ask his consultant for advice on how to answer questions for both travel insurance and claiming on a critical illness policy. If you state that the lymph nodes were clear and it turns out that they were not, then your insurance could be null and void, which means that they won't pay out.

Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on. There is always someone here for you, whenever you feel like talking.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
