My family are in the same boat as you yourself are.
I have cancer, and I think the hardest part is talking about it. The patient will feel scared and confused and be wondering why it has happened to me.
If you can let you dad talk about everything and how he is feeeling this helps ( it helps me ) to let it all out. He will be worrying about his family and how they will cope. Before during and after. And what the future holds for u all. He might be in pain but tells everyone he is fine. Give him time to talk about how he is feeling.Just letting him know u will be there for him.its hard to hear him saying this stuff but talking and not bottling it up will help him.
I hope this helps.
