I had to have a mastectomy last August. I originally had an implant, but it rejected. On 31.3.17 I had DIEP op, where they take fat & tissue from your stomach & reconstruct a new breast. I will need more surgery on the other breast for symmetry next year. They will be tattooing a new nipple on the reconstructed breast too. I thought I was Going to have a lumpectomy but a further biopsy showed more cancer on margins. I've only just gone back to work, but I feel great. You feel like you've got antummy tuck too!!!! Dropped a trouser size. I am also taking Tamoxifen. Getting blood tests tomorrow 're menopause. I'm 53 & having bad hot flushes. Good luck, speak soon.
