Hi Lynda,
You will find the strength, you just don't know it at the moment. I don't mean that in a derogatory way at all it's just so overwhelming to deal with it all. My heart goes out to you as I've been in your position. I couldn't function when we found out my husband had stage 3 kidney cancer with spread to lymph nodes but you will cope and make each day special for sure. Please message me or just keep writing on here. Thinking of you and sending a hug.
Hi Lynda
Welcome to the forum though sad for the reason behind it. I joined some time back when my hubby had his diagnosis (Mesothelioma in his lung linings). I am not sure where any of us get the strength to cope/watch/understand and support those we love but certainly found talking on the forum brought help and understanding. My hubby also was offered and chose to undergo palliative chemo and it gave us longer together. As my hubby did not wish to talk too much about his cancer (he found it very emotional understandably) I was the go between for family and friends.
Please come and chat on the forum any time you would find it helpful and hope you are getting good support from the medical team involved in your husband's treatment/care. Regards Jules54
Hi, I am in the same boat with my mum who has stage 4 lung and brain cancer. I have made a list of things she would like to do, spoken to my boss about reducing my hours and taken financial support from Macmillan. I must say if you go on the Macmillan website they have so many free things they can send in the post to help guide you. I still don't know how to cope fully because you never know how they will feel and when they need you more but you've just gotta be there and keep smiling. it's so so hard but we will all get through this together ! big hugs x
