Sorry to hear bout your mum ... I am also in my 60s and I found my lump 22 months ago and as I had lumps before that were benign , l just knew this one was different ... I have a lot of ongoing health issues so just carried on untill l got a bad chest infection and an x Ray showed up my breast cancer ...

After the tests it turned out a grade 3 ... I've had a masectomy and how, l don't know but limph nods were clear .... So your mum could be o.k too ... I know it sounds wrong to let it go on for so long but if l was heathy and younger I would have gone strait away ...

My son and close family have been my rock and watching a program of young children going through their canser treatment put it all in perspective ... 

This is only my opinion but l found watching that program made me think if they can do it bravely and still be mostly cheerful l could do the same ... Cancer changes many things but if you can help mum face one prob at a time and in between carry on living to the best you can an make the most of every moment and find something in a day to make you smile , it will help you through ....
