Young sister diagnosed bowel cancer with liver mets

As title says my 52 yr old sister had just been diagnosed with bowel cancer with liver mets nit been offered any chemo or radio yet is this because she had surgery to re route the bowel first as the tumour is still in place & apparently to dangerous to remove as near an artery & nerves that feed the leg. What is the treatment time & what is normally used on this type of cancer

  • Welcome to the forum 57nightnurse although I'm sorry to hear about your sister's diagnosis and the reason you find yourself here.

    We have some general information about bowel cancer on our website but I would recommend giving our cancer nurses a call as you will be able to discuss your sister's diagnosis with them in more detail. Their freephone number is 0808 800 4040 and are available Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m so do give them a call when you can.
