My 69 yr old sister is retired from nursing, she was a nurse her entire life. She has also smoked 50 yrs.
She had lung cancer yrs ago, had radiation and it was gone. Recently she was complaining of her hip hurting and went to doctor and they found cancer has came back to one lung and spread to her bones. They also did cat scan and found it in 9 places of her brain. She recently had radiation on head and bones. She is in stage 4
She has always been thin but is now starting to lose weight, she only weighs 88 lbs and is very frail. The doctor has her on morphine, she takes it 2X day. She also takes a pill to make her hungry. Her vital organs are fine
I went to see her yesterday and all she did for the 6 hrs I was there was sit on the porch and smoke. I have never smoked but it was so bad that I could taste it and when I came home brushed my teeth and showered to get rid of the smoke smell
Does anyone have anything similar to this that they have went thru with a loved one? I don't see her living much longer.
The doctor has not said how long she will last, just said he can't do anything else for her!
