Thyroid Cancer

I'm 46, I have just been diagnosed with Thyroid cancer, 29th June 2017. I have read a lot on what to expect but I feel numb completely numb. My consultant to be honest was more concerned with getting everything "done" than anything to do with any questions I had. I'm due to see the surgeons on the 27th July due to complications with medication I'm on blood thinners I need to be weaned off before surgery. I don't understand I had no symptoms although looking on here I actually did but my blood tests I've had so far aren't showing things as affecting my hormones too badly. I don't understand this at all. Recently I've started being sick, but not sure if this is worry. I know I've a way to go I've further tests to have done which is a CT scan of my full neck. Everything went so quick I went to my GP in the morning immediately had bloods done at my GP and I was at ENT in the afternoon had a stick type camera and a scan and more bloods done and two hours later the diagnosis was in. I thought I'd was quick but according to this not so. Everything is following like is spoken and I've read especially on here. Can anyone guide me at all?
