Peripheral T Cell Lymphoma

My husband was diagnosed with stage 4 Lymphoma last year and after 6 rounds of chemotherapy was in remission. The cancer has now relapsed after 8 months and we have been offeered high dose chemotherapy followed by stem cell. We have been told there is only a 10% chance of cure. My husband doesnt want to go for the high dose chemo knowing the chance of cure is slim. We are looking at alternatives. Is anyone aware of a clinic in Germany that offers treatment?

  • Welcome to Cancer Chat MSM.

I'm sorry to hear that your husband has been diagnosed with stage 4 lymphoma and that his cancer relapsed after eight months, it must be a very difficult situation for all of you.

It is only natural, when facing the prognosis he is facing right now to question oneself about the "alternatives" but it is also important to make an informed decision.

The information we have is that despite research into various types of alternative therapy, there is no scientific or medical evidence to show that alternative therapies can help to treat or cure cancer.

Some alternative therapies may be harmful and cause side effects or interfere with conventional cancer treatments. They may cost a lot of money. If someone is considering an alternative therapy it is very important that they discuss this with their treatment team first.

Even if cancer can't be cured with conventional treatments, doctors will still be able to help to control symptoms such as pain and sickness using conventional medicine. So it is important to stay in touch with doctors and discuss treatment possibilities with them.
