Hi Cara,
This is a scary time. I was diagnosed with breast cancer 6 years ago and like you I was terrified. I think the biggest fear was of the unknown. You are so young to have to face this. Have you had a biopsy yet, or have you discussed your treatment options with your consultant?
It is so difficult to come to terms with this diagnosis. I know that my emotions were all over the place. I was angry, terrified, desolate, worried for my family, in a state of disbelief, couldn’t sleep, etc. Once you start treatment things will gradually start to settle down.
You have found this site early on and you will find it very helpful. We are all cancer pilgrims, here to support one another along our cancer journeys. It is often very reassuring to chat with people who are having the same experience as yourself, but who are maybe a little further along their paths. You can draw on the benefit of their experience and get tips which can help you to cope.
The friendship and help here are unsurpassable. You will find that there are aspects of this disease that, with the best will in the world, family cannot answer or even understand. It is good to have somewhere to go to where people on the site are fully aware of what you are going through. There is always someone here who has first-hand knowledge of your concerns and, it is so much easier to talk to these strangers rather than further worrying loved ones.
We are always here for you. Do come back and keep us informed of where you are on your journey.
Kind regards,
Jolamine xx
Hi cara, you have come to the right place for support, advice, asking questions or sharing how you are feeling.
It helps to know you can be in touch with people who know exactly what you are facing and it doesn't matter what time of day or night it is, there will always be someone to listen and help you.
keep in touch and let us know how you are getting on.

Hi cara
I have just been diagnosed with a grade 3 invasive triple negative breast cancer. Waiting to see oncologist to start chemo. I am 40 and have a 5 year old son. Also a single parent. Luckily I have lots of family and friends as support. If you want to talk I'm here. We will be going through things together.

Hi cara
i had a core biopsy. Found my lump in April but it was very big when I found it. They say it's not spread to my lymph nodes. Waiting to start 6 months of chemo. Then I will have a mastectomy. X
Hi Cara,
Not that long to wait now and, I 'm sure that you're glad.
I shall be away from my computer for the next couple of weeks, but I hope that all goes well for you next week.
Shall be thinking of you.
Kind regards,
Jolamine xx

Hi Wendy,
As a single parent you must find your recent diagnosis quite worrying. I am glad to hear that you have some good support from family and friends. I hope that you see the oncologist soon to discuss your chemo. As soon as you start treatment you should feel that you are moving in the right direction and fighting this awful disease.
I hope that it all goes well for you.
Kind regards,
Jolamine xx
