New to this site but not to cancer

Hello, my name is Pat and I am a young 70 years old female.   I had Bladder cancer diagnosed in January 2016 and my bladder removed in April 2016.  My surgeon was concinced this was a curative operation.  Everything that could be taken out was during a five and a half hour operation.  Last week my surgeon called me into his clinic as a soft tissue mass has shown up on my 12 month CT with Contrast.  Its in my pelvis about 7cms x 4cms.  More surgery is not an option, so I am being referred to the chemo/radio doctor.  I'm a bright young thing and can work out for myself that this is not good news.  I'm wondering if there is anyone with similar experiences to mine that I could make contact with to see where their path took them.

  • Welcome to the forum Pat although I'm sorry to hear that a soft tissue mass has been found in your pelvis during your 12 month CT.

I know you're looking to connect with others who may have been in similar situations and I just wanted to let you know that the best way to do this would be by using the 'search forum' option above. This allows you to enter keywords e.g. bladder cancer and find previous discussions where members have been chatting about this. If you come across anyone you would like to make contact with just join in on the conversation. Our members are very supportive and welcoming and will do all they can to help.

Our cancer nurses are just a phone call away as well if you would like to discuss your situation with them. Their freephone number is 0808 800 4040 and their lines are open Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.

I hope things go well with your referral Pat. Do come back and let us know what is decided if you can as we'll be thinking of you and hoping for the best.
