Breast cancer triple negative

Hello I am Karen ,57 years old, just been diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer, found on a routine screening felt no lumps or anything else before this

  • Hi Karen,

i was diagnosed with the same as you last August. I have had the tumour and thirteen lymph nodes removed. Then I had six cycles of chemotherapy and twenty radiotherapy.

It is a big rollercoaster of emotions but it is do-able.

You will be in shock now and very emotional, I imagine. Do you have family for support?

you will be surprised at yourself, at what you can do and how strong you are.

This is a brilliant forum for advice, meeting people in a similar situation as yourself and also expressing your feelings.

    sending hugs

    Doreen

  • My treatment will start with chemotherapy, then surgery, and radiotherapy depending how the surgery goes, they think can save the breast at the moment it depends how much of the tumour is left at the end of chemo, but will know more later,at the moment I don't need any lymph nodes moved,Your right it's a shock and roller coaster .I live in Sawston Cambridge,I think everyone's treatment is different, I have family and friends

  • Yes everyone's treatment is very individual, and it's a very personal journey even with support. My husband has been absolutely brilliant, because it must be very hard to see anyone you care for go through this process without being able to help, but also put up with the emotions we go through, crying, anger, wanting to be on your own, needing help, loneliness, trying to keep positive and countless others.

i am so glad that you have support. If you would like to private message me, you can. I will send you a message, but it's ok if you feel you don't want to x
