Today had my dressing removed even though is been very positive day!!! Positivity is the only way,Keep strong ladies
Thank you xx
You right time is probably one of the things I haven't thought about.Today seem to better day had my dressing removed and it didn't seem that scary (I think I was ready for it).Little softy as the breast nurse says does the trick and get me out the house not feeling difrrent to anybody else.
feeling positive
Hi. I hope you are feeling a little better. I have been on the website for knitted knockers looking at whats available. I am due to have mastectomy and lymph nodes taken out next Wednesday. Can I ask how long you were on the ward and how long it took in theatre? any advice would be gratefully received.
I do hope that each day you'll start feeling better and more positive. Remember you have only just had surgery. Ive had some down days and feelings too, but finding things to laugh about really helps to. I've recently found a lingerie shop with fantastic ladies who know just what we need and I found some very nice bras. There is an Internet site that has bras specially for mastectomy ladies, have a look. Keep your chin up. Best wishes
Hi Michelle20,
My surgery apparently was about 1,5 hours (due to genaral anastetic no idea)went in at 3pm and remember seeing 11pm all depending on individual how you may recover from surgery.Went home the next day at 4pm without the drain which was a bonus as didn't want scare my children (4&9years old)!Stay calm, positive and I'm sure all will be fine. The nhs stuff have been great and very supportive.
GOOD LUCK XXX
Great stuff, will look in to it.So glad to hear that you found good lingerie shop and these little things make the big different. If you don't mind me asking are you already wearing the silicone cup inserts,if so how does it feel?
I was lucky and opted for an immediate implant. I've had no problems with it,I'm totally numb and can feel nothing, I went for that as I wasn't considered for a flap.my bras have space for inserts if I want them.I'm quite happy with my shape and as I am older it doesn't matter quite so much for me as a younger person. I would ask other ladies who may have had the same procedure if they could recommend a lingerie shop near you. Marks and Spencer have trained ladies in their underwear depts so you might try them? Hope you're feeling better day by day.best wishes.
Thanks for info. Hope you are recovering well. X
