Scared of diagnosis

My sister was informed that she has lung cancer today...I was with her and her husband and stayed strong for them both but it is such a shock!! The tumour is crushing her windpipe making breathing diffucult so she has been admitted to hosptail and will be given steroids; once she is feeling better a biopsy will be carried out to identify the cancer type and stage......I have been reading lung cancer stages, treatment etc and am terrified she has stage 4; the tumour is in her left lung but spores are in the left and the liver...I know this is bad!!  My sister is 54 and is very scared and I want to make this all go away but I can't and feel helpless although I won't show this...I need to know what questions to ask once we know what we are dealing with but dont know where to start...can anyone help.

Thank you

I would wait until you get the diagnosis from the doctor. Please don't do what I have done in the past and even try to diagnose of the internet. If it was that simple Christies would not be spending millions on research. Just keep a positive mind and plan how you can best help your sister and brother-in-law going forward. Keep strong and work out how to be there for them and make sure that you look after you too. When you find out where you stand this will be your family time to digest the information and deal with it. Just be able to answer your sisters questions and make sure you all support each other. This forum offers hope and support for us all. If you have questions post them or speak to the specialist team Here if you need a chat
