Lobular Breast Cancer Diagnosis

Hi,

I have just been told that I have Lobular Breast Cancer. I have had an MRI (yesterday) and have been given appt next Friday for results. I have been told that treatment will definitely involve surgery. Just wondering if radiotherapy and/or chemotherapy is usually part of the treatment and average waiting time between the 'Results' appt and the actual surgery. Thanks

Michelle

  • Hi Michelle

i was diagnosed with lobular breast cancer in 2015, had MRI scan on the other breast too. I had a mastectomy, chemotherapy and radiotherapy. I finished treatment last April. When I was diagnosed in July, I had my mastectomy in September, then started chemotherapy in November, it is all a blur now.

i wish you well with your appointment, please come back if you have any questions.

  • Hi, Sorry to continue with conversation. Can I ask if your lymph nodes were clear? They said during the initial scan that my lymph nodes looked ok. Went docs for sidenote and spotted 'Stage 2' on my notes but she said that it wasn't yet confirmed and that I'd know more after MRI... Thanks for any help.
  • Hi.

I was told initially that nodes were clear, then I was told they weren't. My consultant said he wouldn't remove them but get them with radiotherapy.

Dont worry about continuing the conversation I am happy to help you with my experience in any way I can.

i know it's awful waiting and time seems on go slow. Is it this week when you go back? I will be thinking about you.

If you need any help please email me, or if you prefer send me a private message.

    best wishes.
