Duodenal cancer

My husband has been diagnosed with duodenal cancer mets to liver - and maybe further as we are waiting for result of PET scan. He started ECX chemo last week. He is on day 6 and doing really well. Without the chemo we were told he had a,few months to live. With the chemo, who knows? We are living in hope and so pleased the chemo hasnt been too harsh on him so far.

  • Welcome to the forum Santiago,

I'm sorry to hear that your husband had been diagnosed with duodenal cancer mets to the liver but I'm glad to hear his chemo is going well so far and he isn't suffering from many side effects. I can't imagine how difficult this situation must be for you and your husband but it's great you're remaining positive. Many members here have been in a similar situation with their loved ones and hopefully they will be along soon to offer their support and share their experiences with you.

I hope your husband's chemo continues to go well Santiago. Do keep us updated when you can and remember that we're here for you if you need us.

    Kind Regards,

  • Thank you Steph for your very supportive reply. We're now on day 10 of chemo, 1st cycle, and the effects have begun to kick in. Hubbie very tired and has had a few unsettled nights caused by diarrhoea. He's trying hard but he's been pretty miserable and I hate seeing him like this. I feel so helpless.

We're very lucky to have a strong network of friends and family but there are still times we feel so alone.
