Secondary breast cancer

Hello everyone

It doesn't seem reall that I have bone cancer- spine and pelvis.  I was devastated initially and thank goodness my symptoms are well controlled now and as long as I take my painkillers and my regular treatment feel really well.  Have had time off work which has been good to recover- before being diagnosed, I'd been in pain for months and struggling.  I'm determined just to put it to the back of my mind and get on with life.  I 'm having a hip replacement soon and after recovering will try getting back to work.

I almost feel in denial about it! My partner and I are getting  on and living life. When initially diagnosed with breast cancer stage 3 in  2013- the nurse specialist said not to panic just because it's the C word. I'm lucky that my symptoms are well controlled and hope I'll be ok when I get back to work ( I don't like being given poor ! Or I wouldn't) . I have to say my big downfall is I find it difficult to motivate myself to exercise (.but always have).  As long as I feel well and treatment is stable, I'm going to put the C word out of my mind & think of it as a chronic condition.

We all have good a bad days and weeks and all have to live with it somehow . We just have to try to do the best we can . Just for me I seem OK.

I thought I'd share this as we often read the really bad stories(.another site I joined is mostly negative experiences) and bad times and sometimes it might be nice to hear that we can be ok too.

Wishing get everyone dealing with this disease all the very best
