Dear Forum,
Greetings to all of you on here. I'm still reeling from the above diagnosis last Wednesday. No real symptoms - except peeing a lot when I drink too much beer (that's normal for my age anyway!). PSA only 4.3 and 4.4 (last tested late Oct 2016). MRI fround a small lession (c. 6.5mm) near the apex - not breaking the prostate wall and not making it bulge. I believe cancer has a major psychosomatic causation: in my own case, stress, anger and dissonance: I've just been through a bad divorce and a stressful employment exit. If it wasn't for those two events (and my very poor abililty to handle the stress caused - eg. I stopped exercising and being physically active) - then I doubt I would have PC now! Anyway, it seems my options are surveillance, RP or seeds. My initial decision is, I suppose, to have the seeds and then do what I was going to do with my 'early retirement' anyway: travel the world and write a book or two. My family doesn't have a good record of longevity anyway (my parents both died younger than me - my mother from cancer - and the treatment alone destroyed her quality of life completely). So, the temporary outcome (and all outcomes are temporary of course, per se) I prefer for myself is that I have the best chance of making it to my three score years and ten (12 yrs 4.5 mnths away) - but WITH a reasonable *quality of life*: Seeds and/or External beam? And also of course to get as fit as I can - starting a week today!
PS. 1 quadrant = Gleason 7; 2 others = 3+3 = 6; 4th quadrant clear.
Best wishes to all members on here,
Peter.
