Hi
Looking for any help or advice from someone in a similar situation to myself (55 year old).
Was diagnosed with PC after visiting a urologist because of on/off testicle pain lasting many years which tests had failed to determine reason for. Anyway, as part of their investigations my PSA reading was 5,2 in March 2016. Was tested again in July 2016 and PSA was 5.0 so a biopsy was suggested. Biopsy in October 2016 revealed a Gleason score of 7 (3+4). MRI scan in November confirmed that cancer was contained with in the prostate (T2C). Since then have spoken with Surgeon and Oncologist to disuss treatment options. PSA in January 2017 was taken and was down to 4.2.
Despite discussions with specialists and reading lots of guidance on the subject, it seems to me that opinion is divided on what to do with someone in my situation...treat or active surveillance....surgery or radiotherapy. As it stands, I have intimated that I'm going to have Bracytherapy at the end of March. Before I totally commit to this, I would welcome thoughts/experience from anyone faced with a similar situation.
Thanks
John
