Thyroid cancer

I've recently been told I have papriatry cancer,I've had one operation to remove lymph noids which weren't cancerous thank God, I have to have another operation in may to have half or depending if cancer has spread total removal of thyroid.

I have been getting symptoms I never had over the last 3 weeks and every day they seem to be getting worse.im totally exhausted, slight pain in neck, sort of cramping in neck and finding it slightly more difficult to eat it's not really bad eating but getting different if this makes any sense.

I wondered if anyone e else has or had same or similar things as me?

Would be very much appreciated for any information

Many thanks xx

  • Hiya,

My husband has follicular thyroid cancer. At first we didn't notice many symptoms other than the difficulty swallowing and depending on how he was laying down in bed, difficulity breathing. Most doctors were really surprised that he didn't have any symptoms of something wrong with the thyroid but that could be where your total exhaustion is coming from? He has since had a complete thyroidectomy.

  • I dont know too much about it but what I would like to say is that my father in law had Thyroid cancer several years ago, must be getting on for 8 or 9 years now. He had his Thyroid completely removed and a course of radiotherapy to follow. He's been in remission ever since.
He's no spring chicken, is blind and diabetic but apart from that, you'd never know he had it. It can be beaten, he's proof of that.
    Best wishes to you xxx
