Scared can't stop crying

I was diagnosed on 9th January 2017 with tonsil cancer I start my radiotherapy and chemotherapy tomorrow I know what to expect but it's still scary this diagnosis came out of the blue after suffering from constant sore throats I never expected this. I'm scared of the mask I had a panic attack when I had to have CT Scan felt like I couldn't breathe I'm having hypnotherapy at cancer care tomorrow to try and help me. Is anyone else suffering this as any help would be much appreciated x

  • Hi

I wish you all the best for tomorrow, I took diazepan when I had my scans and lots of deep breathing and visualising.  I know it will be different but it might help.  Thinking of you xx

  • A new diagnosis is always going to be so hard to accept, and this is still such new news to you. Sending you lots of love and support. Im thankful that it has been identified so that treatment can begin, to help make you better. Thinking of you loads and loads xxx
  • Hi there

Just thought Id offer some support as my husband was diagnosed with tonsil cancer in Dec 2015. He had 5 cycles of cistplatin and 30 fractions of VMAT radiotherapy last year culminating in a neck dissection in July as unfortunately this didn't get rid of the secondary tumour in his ymph nodes. Hes now in remission and I just wanted to say that the human spirit is fantastic and you will find a way to get through the treatment and come out the other side. Hopefully you have either family or friends to support you as you travel this road.

    Best of luck xx
