Stomach cancer

my mum has a progressive stomach cancer a growth that is malignant and lymphnodes. I don't know much about any of it, as it is all new to me so I'm after some advice really. My mum had a stroke, and they have said that she has stomach cancer which she had a biopsy for in December. She was in hospital at Christmas with internal bleeding from stomach ulcers. Anyway.... basically they are saying that they cannot do anything for her because she has had internal bleeding before and she is on walferin. Surely there is something that can be done, how can they just leave her to die? In the other hospital she was in they said that they could remove some of her stomach, now they are saying the opposite I'm so confused, I just want her to get some help

  • Hello Rosie230,

I just wanted to welcome you to our forum. I am so sorry to hear about your mum and that she had internal bleeding. It must have been difficult for her to spend Christmas in hospital and it must be devastating for you to hear from the hospital that they cannot do anything for her. Perhaps you could ask for a different opinion in a different hospital just to make sure this is the right course of action to take?

Our nurses are also available on this free number 0808 800 4040 if you want to talk things through with them. You can talk to them Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm and they may be able to guide you on this.

    Best wishes,
