Lung cancer with spots on the liver

Hi all I'm new to this sort of stuff. My dad has just been diagnosed with lung cancer with spots on his liver they said it's incurable. He has to have a biopsy Monday to find out what type it is, they have said all they can do is chemo. I probably shouldn't be looking into it more until he has his biopsy results, but I just need some answers I don't no what to expect I don't want to lose him but I know it's going to happen. I just want to no know a timescale. At the moment I'm having a tough time I feel like life is so unfair, he is in remission from prostate cancer which he had November 2014 and now this i just don't know what to do or say any advice or any similar situations would be appreciated.

  • My sister is 50 next week. She has stage 4 lung cancer that was secondary in the bone when she got diagnosed. She is a fighter, having treatment, pretty functional, still pops in to work, still ok. She was diagnosed (as stage 4) in December 2012! I'm sorry for your news love, it's never easy, but they really are doing amazing stuff these days. Be strong. Don't read about it or research it yet, there are too many variables and everyone is different. Just be there for each other and have the good times. It's scary but don't get ahead of yourself. Trust the doctors and take each day as it comes, that's what keeps us going. Good luck xxx
