Tonsil cancer..what questions to ask?

hi, was diagnosed yesterday. Doctor could not have been more helpful and clear. I didn't take it all in, but my best friend did, luckily. more will become clear from the MRI next week, and they said at the moment it looks treatable, if i go for chemo and radiation. I feel it's further than they think, in which case I'd rather enjoy my time and leave the treatment alone. . What questions should I be asking?

  • Hello HappyNan,

I am glad you spoke to a doctor who was very helpful and clear and you did the right thing in taking a friend with you as often it can feel there is too much information to take in. Your best friend seems like a great source of support!

I wanted to wish you the best of luck for your MRI next week - it is good news they have told you it looks treatable. You can find more information about tonsil cancer here. I hope you will hear from others who have been affected by tonsil cancer and have been through all this before and I am sure they will have some good tips for you on what questions you could ask. For example, last month [@Shelly3]‍ posted on the forum to talk about her tonsil cancer diagnosis and you can read her thread as well as [@Newlymarried]‍ 's reply here. Feel free to respond to them if you wish and to ask them any questions you may have. I am sure they will have many good tips to share with you having been through this process themselves before.

Our nurses are also available on this free number 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm if you want to give them a call and ask them for advice on anything.

I hope this helps and do come back next week if you get a chance to tell us all how your MRI went!

    Best wishes,
