Newly diagnosed, waiting for full results

Hi,

I have had a lumpectomy, and removal of lymph nodes last week. I have had another health problem for past  5 months, really worried that it's connected to the cancer diagnosis. I feel I need to be strong for my husband, he is always the strong, logical one, but in the past week he is so obviously stressed and looks unwell himself. I am worried about getting the results of the samples taken during the op,  but don't want to burden him with my worries, just wanted to voice my fears, and this forum seems a good way to do it, thank you x

  • I have just be diagnosed today so just at the start of this journey. I am worried about my husband as well, he has jut gone to pick up the kids from school and tell them the bad news. I feel so bad for him, but he will cope and so will your husband. As a newbie I don't know enough about anything to give you any words of wisdom but here is a virtual hug ((((((hug)))))) x

  • Thank you, telling the kids is hard, mine are young adults, 21 and 24, they were shocked but took it well. My sons partner spoke to me later. Her mum has recently gone through treatment for cancer, she thanked me for telling my son the facts in a positive way, to allow him to accept the news. I appreciated that, I didn't know if I got it right or not. Kids notice a lot, , so best being honest with them. Good luck with this process we are both reluctantly starting on x
