At last after 7 weeks since primary diagnosis we have our first oncology consultation today. I now can't even think what to ask. What we need to know? Can anyone please advise? After so long I'm now dreading going.
I personally found that I walked away with more questions than answers after my first appointment. I would recommend take someone with you if possible two sets of ears are better than one and that make think of questions you dont; take a pen and paper to jot things down ask for a number of someone you can ring if you get any questions in between appointments especially if your next appointment is start of treatment like mine was. Always remember though that whatever you ask the doc has probably heard it a million times before so ask. I always ask about long term side affects to any treatment and will it made with any of my other health issues and medication.
