Neuroendocrine cancer

Hi all, I just wondered if anybody can give me some advice please. During November of last year my brother in law was suffering with some quite bad symptoms. Nasal stuffiness, severe nose bleeds, double vision and head aches. He had been to see his gp several times prior to the symptoms getting so bad. He was usually prescribed antibiotics, which did nothing for him. The gp then referred him to an ENT doctor, and his appointment was for December last year. However because his symptoms were so bad one evening in November, a family member took him to A&E. They found a tumor in the nasal cavity. So then testing began. Ct, MRI, and a pet scan has now revealed it's actually an Neuroendocrine carcinoma. Everybody originally thought it was Nasal Cancer. He only found this out on Tue of this week. I just can't understand it though. Because the tumor is in his brain, and behind his eye. It is also now in the lymph nodes. I thought this type of cancer affected the gut, bowel and pancreas. Sorry to go on for so long but I just wondered if anybody knows anything about this type of cancer.

Thank you x

  • Hi Nicky,

I'm really sorry to hear your brother in law has been unwell since last year and has now been officially diagnosed with neuroendocrine carcinoma. I would recommend giving our cancer nurses a call about this as they will be able to offer more information and insight in to his diagnosis. Their number is 0808 800 4040, which is free to call from a UK landline, and they are available Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.

I hope you manage to get some answers soon Nicky.

    Best wishes to you both,
