I've just received a diagnosis of Metastised SCC, I had a biopsy taken from my neck about 3 weeks ago and was called in and given the results. I received no follow up info, bearing in mind I'd been going back to my Haematology Clinic with what I know are now classic signs a =nd symptoms for this type of cancer, for nearly a year. I was previoulsy diagnosed with NHL in 2012 and went through  Chemo and 2 years of Rituximab anitbody therapy, which has put that into partial remission. However, I know something was amiss as I;ve been so under the weather for the last year.I've jsut about given iup fighting the hospital to take me seriously when one cosultant finally conceded to do a PET scan. This highlighted several areas of concern, resulting in the recent neck biopsy. After nearly a fortnight of waiting for someone to get back in touch, a nurse friend called the hospital on my behalf and rocked the boat seriously. Within 2 hours, I'd received an urgent referral to an ENT conusultant, and within 2 days, CT and MRI scans were booked, and done on Xmas Eve, am now awaiting the results. I just wanted to say, if anyone is experiencing the dragging of heels of your medical professionals, please don't take no for an answer. You know your own body and if you don't have the energy to fight your corner, find a family member or friend who can,I still don't  know what stage I am at , or where the primary tumour is located .... i was just put in a room with my partner, told the news, and they let me go home .. in major shock ....deep down .I knew anyway, but I'm so shocked that nobody seemed to actually care .enough to think outside the box and get things in motion for me .. it dosn;t fill me with a lot of confidence .... please  don't put up with second best ...  xxxxxxx
