Larry

  • Hi Larry

you sound so sad. Perhaps you are angry.

I think some better questions to ask are: now that it's happened, what can I do about it? How can I make every day count? How can I make us both happy and how do I achieve the best quality of life within my means?

Cancer is vile but we are human and whilst there may not be cures available there are treatments and support available and there's  *****. (Insert here, your favourite thing, donuts, lindor chocolate, single malt whisky, radio 4 plays, cricket on TV, your garden).

I try to focus in on what I can control and it makes us happier. Good luck.

  • Thank you for your encouragement. It's tough but we need to work together.
  • That's a great response Bryony :)  It is so easy to focus on the negative (that's what I am doing trying to cope with my husbands recent diagnosis), but there will be the odd silver lining - for my husband and I it is simple things like cooking supper together, instead of just one of us, or holding hands more, lying in a few minutes more in the morning just for a stolen cuddle.  These are all small things that might not feel like that much, but somehow in the darkness they hold a greater light and significance than before.

I wish you and your wife all the best Larry.
