This week I have found out I have a rare form of skin cancer, apocrine adenocarcinoma, that has spread from my scalp to my lymph nodes and chest.

i had suspected it would be bad news, but I think it was probably about as it could get really!

apparently not a lot is known about my cancer so I don't yet know what treatment options might be available or what the aim of that treatment will be.  

Whilst it is good to finally know, there are still so many unknowns that I'm still in that tortuous waiting stage. However, it's Christmas and I have my family to focus on so this is helping me stay positive.

i have already had the tumour from scalp removed and will have a pet scan soon.  This will help inform what happens next.  I really hope that there will be something positive to cling on to as it all seems pretty bleak right now.
