My husband has prostate cancer

hi my husband is 59 yrs old & was called in to see the doctor at the hospital yesterday & has been informed he has prostate cancer & starts his MRI & the injection for his bone density on Tuesday & he seems to upbeat about it he says that I know what he is going to be going through as I had a mastectomy with radiotherapy & chemotherapy about 25 years ago & im still here so why shouldn't he be the same he says he take what ever they throw at him & feel that it may not have hit him yet or he's in denial, help,plz, ty

    Welcome to ythis friendly forum. Ijust over six years ago I was in the same siyuation as your husband is now. I was also telling my wife I was going to beat it which I did with the great treatment I recieved. I had two years on hormone therapy and also 37 radiotherapy sessions and my psa came down from a high od 70 to the lowest they can measure at 0.01. I

  • Hi Brian, ty for your message wishing us the best, my husband starts his treatment tomorrow by having the dye injection & 2 different types of scan, he's been told he is at 7 on the scale which starts at 6 & has been told his treatment will go on until roughly April so we're going to take each day at a time & see how things go & ty again for your encouraging message Nicky
