Brain tumour

Hi, I was diagnosed with a brain tumour early October after problems with vision and an MRI and am still waiting for a date for surgery. The surgeon says it's the only option, and wants to do another MRI and CT scan first, but my question is how long is it normal to wait? I'm off work unable to drive and going mad with worry and thought I would have been in sooner :( Thanks for any advice you may have.

  • Hello LNS and a big welcome to Cancer Chat

I think it might be worth ringing the hospital and chasing your referral. You could ask them whether they have an estimated date and that you are worried as you haven't heard anything from them.

I hope you will hear from others here who have been through a similar process before brain tumour surgery and they may be able to guide you as to how long it took them to have the surgery.

If you live in the UK, I would also advise you give our friendly nurses a call on this free number 0808 800 4040 and I am sure they will be able to help and give you some suggestions on how to proceed.

    Best wishes,
