I'm a newbie with fallopian tube cancer.

Hi all!

I'm a little lost as what to say. I've have suffered with endometriosis for years and then was diagnose with adenomyosis so i had a hysterectomy in March 2013. After about 18months of significantly reduced pain I started suffering with pains again, so was referred back to my gyne. After appointments and tests it was found that my endometriosis had returned so I was put into a medicated menopause to see if it helped. It did! I felt that for my quality of life and mental well being I should have my ovaries and fallopian tubes removed. My consultant didn't want to do this, I really had to fight for it. He eventually agreed and I had surgery on 27th Sept.

I had my follow up appointment this Wednesday only to be told that cancer was found in my fallopian tubes! I am a bit lost. I am waiting for a referral to the Royal Marsden. I have no clue what to expect. My gyne consultant said i am extremely lucky as it's such a rare cancer

Can anyone she'd some light on what possible treatment I may need to have?!

Thanks in advance for reading, a very worried Rhonda.

  • Hello Rhonda and welcome to the forum.

It sounds like you have been through quite a lot over the last few years and can understand why you may be feeling a bit lost after being told that cancer was in your fallopian tubes. Unfortunately I can't can't shed any light on what possible treatment you may need to have but our cancer nurses will definitely be able to help. You can discuss your situation with them in more detail on 0808 800 4040, which is free from a UK landline, and are available Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.

I hope you don't have to wait too long for the referral and that it goes well when the time comes. If you get a chance do come back and let us know what happens.

    All the best,

  • Thank you for your reply Steph.

I have e-mailed a nurse and got  a reply back very quickly. I am still waiting for an appointment at the Royal Marsden though. I'm going crazy.
