Hiya, I'm sorry to hear you are having a difficult time. I had a cyst removed on the 17th Oct, mine was 10cm, my tumour marker test came back low but there was a lot of endometrial cells so they did a biopsy and last Wednesday called me back to tell me I have endometrial cancer. I'm in the same boat I don't know if its spread I've been putting off having my chest xray because I'm petrified but I'm eventually going tomorrow. I have to go on the 24th Nov for a hysterectomy and the removal of the other ovary/tube. I'm 40 years old, I have no children, I don't know if I'm mourning the children I will never have or the cancer I have. They are hopeful that its stage 1/2 and hasn't spread. Its taken me the last week to get my head around it but I'm much more positive now. The hardest part was telling people, but once you've said it out loud a few times it doesn't seem as scarey. I'm not really sure what to tell you other than there is a lot of help out there, I have a lovely gyni oncology nurse who will help with anything. I live in a small village and everyone knows now and they are all supportive, I even shared it on fb to my family and close friends some people find this inappropriate but the amount of messages I got from people who had there own stories was amazing, I'm not suggesting you do that of course, but tell people who you know will support you and remember you are the priority so handle it way you think is best, this is the one time in your life you can be selfish. Hiya that helped a lot when I first got told, I automatically thought I'm the only person in the world and I'll never get better. I haven't had the cyst type thing removed yet, I have a lot of fluid in my stomach. and will have a chest ct scan tonight or tomorrow as I'm still in hospital, transfer to another hospital tomos to have some fluid taken out my stomach for testing and hopefully can go home. I've told a lot of people already as I've been in hospital a while with pain from the ovary. it is a scary time. we will best this! I also have no children, but I will be asking for a full hysterectomy I don't want to take any risks. thank you so much. I'm sorry to hear about you also, remember to stay positive yourself. but I would advise the chest scan, it's better to know now. scary though we are only young xxx

Hi yeah I can relate to all of that. My main concern was telling my mam more than anyone else which is silly really because I'm a grown up lol. The cyst surgery and removal of the other ovary / tube was pretty plain sailing, they did it laparoscopic, was in and out in 5 hours, about three weeks before I felt better, they are doing my hysterectomy the same way as day surgery, fingers crossed. I do worry about going straight into menopause without the hrt but id rather be rid of this and have the hot flushes! I'm going for my chest scan tomorrow, I've got to do it sooner or later, like you say better to know what your dealing with. I hope you get your stomach sorted and hopefully get away home very soon, its always better to be in your own house with your family around you. Let me know how you get on, good luck pet

I'm still here in hospital waiting for my chest scan, unfortunately can't get into the other hospital until Monday maybe for the fluid test. it all seems so slow but I guess they know what they are doing. how are you feeling? quick question did you have any symptoms to trigger your alarm about your cyst? I have tummy pains lower back pain bloating  and I can feel the lump in my lower tummy.  but I am only 6 stone I'm not a very big person anyways never have been I'm 5 foot lol and my biggest has been 8 stone. I don't know if that could be due to stress tho as I'm a massive worrier.

Hiya, im sorry to hear your still in hospital, hopefully you'll get sorted by monday and get away home. In answer to your question no not really. I have pcos and have always had problems with heavy periods. At one point I was having tranxemic acid to stem the flow but it didn't work. During a period in July I passed out at work and literally could not stop bleeding so I went back to the doctors to have some tests for anaemia and thyroid tests. During that appointment she took a swab and decided to send me for a scan. In the meantime I had my smear which came back clear and a tumour marker test which came back clear. During the scan the found the cyst, it was 5x5x30 they said it needed removed as a precaution. In the month before my op it had literally doubled. In the meantime my swab test came back to say there was a number of endometrial cells so they decided to do a biopsy whilst they were in there, I think they expected endometriosis, they said they probably wouldn't even need to see me again. That gets me to the call back phone call where they said i had cancer. No other symptoms it was literally found by chance, a lucky one as It may have been years down the Line and I'm still hopeful that it is early enough for the surgery to work.

the scan was ok, the results will go to oncology, they don't tell you anything, it drives you crazy all the waiting!! In the meantime I have to go back to the Drs as my blood pressure is through the roof, what do you flaming expect this last six weeks has been very stressful!!! Cause cancer isn't enough to deal with lol.

Hey hope your doing well. I can home on Friday, off to do that fluid test tomorrow. I'm a bit concerned as most woman seem to get an operation to remove asap and I feel like I'm just left with it still inside me. but then again doctors have seen all my scans and tests and they wouldn't of let me home and waiting if they thought it was dangerous.. oh I'm so worried, stress levels are so high one minute I'm calm, the next I'm a wittering mess. 

Seems like you've always had some sort of a problem with the pcos and the periods where mine have always been fine until this one which is why I went to the Dr's so in a way I'm glad it caused me to have bad period cramps, if not, like you I wouldn't of known. 

Guess we're both going through a waiting game now.. which is the hard part.. not knowing

Hiya, that's fab news that your going home. I think it all sounds positive, if there letting you go home without surgery then they must think the prognosis is good and have a long term plan for you which hopefully won't. Involve surgery!

yeah I've always had problems with my periods but nothing that could really be associated with the outcome I've received. The pcos has caused me problems with access hair and retaining weight but no real issues other than irregular periods. The symptoms for this were different though. On the plus side I wont have this to deal with this, and I'll be rid of the horrendous mirena coil, of course I will have the menopause but heyho
