New to forum

I was diagnosed with tongue cancer in early October, and have been to the specialist where I need a neck dissection to take lymph nodes, glossectomy of over a third of my tongue and reconstruction from muscle and artery in my left forearm.  I need some tests before this is all done and I am scared.

  • Hi Kaffe, welcome to the forum, but sorry for why you're here. I don't know anything about your kind of cancer, but I wanted to welcome you here where those of us with cancer, (any cancer) can relate to your fears about it. People here are very caring and supportive, so you will find that just writing down your experiences as you go through this journey of dealing with your cancer, will be very helpful for you. Keep coming on here and eventually, people will respond. I will certainly read your posts as we can all learn from other people's experiences. I have untreatable lung cancer and bladder cancer that is unrelated. It has been a long 7 years since I was first diagnosed and I have had more surgeries than I can count and many treatments. So far, I'm still alive and not doing too badly. It is a scary journey.

Take care and stay in touch.
