Wife of husband just diagnosed with Stage 2 T1 bladder

Does anybody else have an experience of this sort of bladder cancer.  My husband was diagnosed 3 weeks ago.  He had an operation to remove the cancer two weeks ago.  Biopsy results given yesterday and it seems worse than we thought, as he has to have another operation to test the scar tissue that has been left behind for cancer.  A full body scan has also been requested and we are both very scared.

  • Hi there Cosser, welcome to the forum, but sorry to hear that your husband has been diagnosed with bladder cancer. I'm not a medical person, but thought I would respond to your post because I also have bladder cancer, diagnosed 3 years ago. Since then I have had several surgeries to remove cancers, and several BCG treatments. So far, the cancer has not gone through the wall of my bladder as far as I know. I also have other cancers that are unrelated. I can't speak to your husband's condition, but you should check out the information here on the forum on bladder cancer. It would also be a good idea to write down all of the questions that you want answered before his next apt. with the urologist. Write them down because you won't remember them when you get in the office.

Come back on to the forum and let us know how he gets along and what the plan is for his treatment. Take care and good luck with it all.
