Trying to be positive

Hi

I have recently been told I have cancer in my ureter. It was an incidental finding when I was in hospital for something titally unrelated. Apparently this is quite rare and the indication is that I am likely to need my kidney removing. It has not yet been graded or anything and I have had to wait 7 weeks for the date for my op to explore further but I am petrified that it is spreading further round my body every day. I am trying so hard to be syrong bit I am so scared.  Has anyone else got experience with this type of cancer?

  • Hello Tms13,

    Welcome to the forum.

I'm sorry that you have recently been diagnosed with ureter cancer but it's good that it has been caught and now action can be taken to treat it. It's completely understandable to feel this way and many of our members will know how you are feeling having been through it themselves and I'm sure they will post soon to offer you their support and share their experiences. If you do have any other questions on your mind about this do feel free to give our cancer nurses a call. They are free to call from a UK landline on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m-5p.m.

Hopefully you won't have to wait too much longer for your operation and I hope it goes ok when the day arrives. Do come back and let us know how you get on, we'll be thinking of you.

    Best Wishes,
